Austenitic manganese steels (Mn13Cr2, Mn18Cr2, Mn21Cr2, Mn21Cr2Mo) are the gold standard for crusher wear parts. Under impact, these steels work-harden from ~200 HB to over 500 HB on the surface while the core stays ductile — the perfect combination of wear resistance and impact toughness for mantles, bowl liners, jaw plates, and hammers.
