Jaw Crusher Plates

The jaw is the core component of the jaw crusher, consisting of the movable jaw plate and the fixed jaw plate. These plates form the working chamber where materials are crushed. Both plates have wear liners (crushing plates or jaw plates) to protect the jaw structure.

The crushing plate surface has teeth. The peak angle typically ranges between 90° and 120°, depending on the material. Larger materials use a greater angle. The tooth pitch is determined by the product size and is approximately equal to the discharge port width. The tooth height-to-pitch ratio is typically 0.5-0.33.

During operation, wear is not uniform - the lower section wears faster due to direct material contact and higher crushing forces. Extending plate life is important for maintaining efficiency and reducing downtime.

Jaw crusher plate performance depends on design, material selection, assembly precision, and usage conditions. We supply jaw crusher plates made from high manganese steel. Our production includes smelting, casting, and heat treatment.

Our jaw crusher plates use Mn18 and Mn21 manganese steel grades (over 13% manganese). Work hardening allows the plates to increase in hardness under pressure. The heat treatment process (tough water treatment) maintains toughness and avoids performance degradation from natural phase transitions.
